Java Developer - web applications

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work as part of a team of 7-8 Java developers
• Perform coding & unit testing of Singl.eView software using technologies including Java, JSF, ICEFaces.
• Take responsibility for ensuring that the software complies with R & D quality assurance processes.
• Assist with the development of specifications for the Singl.eView product.
• Work with peers to ensure end-to-end functionality of software from design through to implementation & unit testing.
• Work together with the larger R&D group, interacting with all members of the group, including Technical Writers, Business Analysts & Testers, participating in reaching consensus and providing guidance to junior members of the team.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science.
• Minimum 2 years experience in commercial software development in the relevant technology areas: Java, JSF
• In-depth knowledge of technical principles and business systems.
• Highly developed analytical problem-solving skills required for developing design solutions or identifying obscure problems.
• Strong communication skills.

HIGHLY DESIRABLE

• Experience with HTML and CSS
• Experience designing and building rich Web 2.0 applications
• Experience with web development using ICEFaces or similar JSF frameworks.
• Experience with servlet containers, such as Glassfish, Weblogic, Tomcat.
• Experience with development tools such as Subversion, Hudson, TestNG, Selenium.
• Telecommunications/customer care industry experience.
