Technical Consultant, Senior

 

Purpose:

  • Analyse and manage technical requirements of customers including performance, integration and technical administration issues.
  • Responsibilities may include pre sales support; product training support; data migration support and technical responses to RFP’s, assessing infrastructure requirements and delivering and installing hardware/software to support project deployments.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the identification and analysis of the external client’s technical requirements
  • Gathers information for cost models, creates preliminary technical resource allocation plans, and provides technical input and consultation
  • Consults with customers on application and system sizing, performance requirements, application installation and deployment
  • Performs installation, configuration and upgrading of Oracle server software and related products
  • Performs release promotions (including core upgrades) from development through to UAT
  • Establishes and maintains system/database backup and recovery policies and procedures
  • Conducts Performance testing, tuning and backup recovery of the database
  • Performs technical trouble shooting and consults with development teams to resolve issues
  • Communicates, to client, Intec technical perspective
  • Sets up and maintains documentation and standards
  • Follows and promotes the agreed Best Practices and their supporting documentation

Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering (Electrical, Software, Telecommunications) or Business (with major in Computing)
  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience (Unix administration, Oracle administration, desktop administration, SQL performance tuning)
  • Telecommunications industry experience and related product knowledge preferred
